Description
Build, deploy and maintain SSIS packages that extract, transform and load data, using SQL Server 2025 Integration Services and Visual Studio 2022.
About this course
This course teaches you to build and run SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) packages that move and reshape data between systems. You learn on the current version, SQL Server 2025 Integration Services, with Visual Studio 2022. You design control flow and data flow, apply transformations, make packages dynamic with parameters and loops, handle errors and logging, and deploy and schedule packages from the SSIS Catalog, then finish with a complete extract, transform and load project.
Who it is for
This course is for database professionals, business intelligence developers and data engineers who move data between systems. It also suits SQL developers who have been asked to take over existing SSIS packages.
Prerequisites
Working Transact-SQL knowledge and familiarity with relational databases
Basic Windows skills
SQL Server Agent experience is helpful but not required
Requirements
Requires a Windows PC
64-bit Windows; SQL Server Management Studio 21 and SSIS Projects 2022 are 64-bit only
Visual Studio 2022 with the SQL Server Integration Services Projects 2022 extension
SQL Server 2025 Developer edition with Integration Services, which Microsoft provides free for development and training
SQL Server Management Studio 21 or later
What you will be able to do
- You will be able to create an SSIS project in Visual Studio and build control flow with tasks, precedence constraints and connection managers.
- You will be able to load data from flat file, Excel and SQL Server sources into SQL Server destinations.
- You will be able to clean and reshape data with Derived Column, Data Conversion, Lookup, Conditional Split and Aggregate transformations.
- You will be able to make packages dynamic with parameters, variables, expressions and Foreach Loop containers.
- You will be able to troubleshoot packages with data viewers, logging, error outputs and event handlers.
- You will be able to deploy packages to the SSIS Catalog, configure environments and schedule them with SQL Server Agent.
