Ohio’s Individual Microcredential Assistance Program covers this course in full for eligible Ohioans. That includes tuition, materials, and your certification exam voucher where one applies. You won’t be charged for any part of it.

You likely qualify if you are a U.S. citizen, 18 or older, and currently living in Ohio. You can’t be an employee of the State of Ohio or of We Can Code IT.

High school juniors and seniors may also qualify, though the State attaches a condition about whether the same credential is available through College Credit Plus. Email admissions@wecancodeit.org and we’ll work out whether it applies to you.

SQL (All Versions)

A rapid and clear introduction to SQL, the language of databases. From fundamentals through advanced queries with AI-assisted data exploration.

  • Virtual Instructor-led and In-person options
  • Goal(s): Write SQL queries to retrieve, filter, join, and analyze data from relational databases.
  • Audience: Aspiring data scientists, software developers, and anyone working with data.
  • Prerequisites: Python Programming Level 1 or equivalent programming experience.

Start from the fundamentals of databases, database design, and data models. Progress through creating tables, writing queries, filtering and sorting data, JOIN operations, and aggregate functions. Includes real-world scenarios, project-based assignments, and a code-jam style final project. Final module covers AI for data querying — using AI tools to generate, optimize, and debug SQL queries, and natural language to SQL translation.
