Description
Prepare for exam AB-400 by learning to extend Power Platform with code: PCF components, code apps, Dataverse plug-ins, custom connectors, and AI agents.
About this course
This course prepares you for exam AB-400, the new exam for the Power Platform Developer Associate certification that replaces PL-400 in October 2026. It follows the AB-400 objectives, which add code apps, Copilot Studio, and Microsoft Foundry agents and drop the older canvas app and troubleshooting areas. You spend most of your time writing and deploying code in a Power Platform developer environment.
Who it is for
This course is for software developers, Power Platform makers moving into professional development, and solution architects who design, build, test, and extend Power Platform solutions with code and generative AI.
Prerequisites
Development experience with JavaScript or TypeScript and C#
Working knowledge of Power Apps, Power Automate, and Dataverse
Comfort with JSON, REST APIs, and a modern code editor such as VS Code
Requirements
A modern web browser for Power Apps, Power Automate, and Copilot Studio
A Power Platform developer environment with a work or school account
VS Code with the Power Platform CLI and the .NET SDK installed
An Azure subscription for the Azure Functions and Microsoft Foundry labs; Azure usage is paid and billed to the subscription, beyond any free credit Microsoft offers new accounts
Exam
Exam AB-400: Extending Microsoft Power Platform Solutions with Code and AI (Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Developer Associate) (AB-400). This course prepares you for exam AB-400, and one exam attempt voucher is included. AB-400 is available beginning October 16, 2026 (English only) and replaces PL-400, whose registration closes October 16, 2026. This is a code-heavy exam, so most learners need additional self-study and extensive hands-on development beyond the course hours, especially if you are new to C# or JavaScript. Passing is not guaranteed.
What you will be able to do
