Description
Prepare for exam AZ-104 by learning to manage Azure identities, governance, storage, compute, networking, and monitoring in a real Azure subscription.
About this course
This course walks you through the five skill areas Microsoft measures on exam AZ-104: identity and governance, storage, compute, virtual networking, and monitoring. Each module pairs guided lessons with a hands-on lab in the Azure portal, Azure CLI, or PowerShell so you practice the tasks an Azure administrator does every week. The course follows the AZ-104 skills outline Microsoft published as of April 17, 2026.
Who it is for
This course is for IT administrators, systems administrators, and cloud support staff who implement, manage, and monitor an organization's Azure environment as part of a cloud infrastructure team.
Prerequisites
Working familiarity with operating systems, networking, servers, and virtualization
Some experience with PowerShell or a command line
Basic awareness of Microsoft Entra ID is helpful but not required
Requirements
A modern web browser for the Azure portal
An Azure subscription for hands-on labs; Azure usage is paid and billed to the subscription, beyond any free credit Microsoft offers new accounts, so delete lab resources when you finish
Azure CLI or Azure PowerShell for command-line labs
Exam
Exam AZ-104: Microsoft Azure Administrator (Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate) (AZ-104). This course prepares you for exam AZ-104, and one exam attempt voucher is included. The course hours cover every exam domain, but most learners need additional self-study and hands-on lab time in an Azure subscription beyond the course hours, plus the free Microsoft practice assessment, before sitting the exam. Passing is not guaranteed. The certification renews each year through a free online assessment on Microsoft Learn.
