Description
Develop, test and review code with GitHub Copilot in the IDE, the CLI and on GitHub, configure its privacy and organization settings, and prepare for the GitHub Copilot (GH-300) exam.
Your capstone, reviewed by a coach
You finish by building, testing and reviewing a change with Copilot, and your coach reviews it with you, along with your practice assessment results. That review is part of earning your certificate.
Group coaching for teams
Each learner gets 1 hour of coaching. Teams pool their hours into group sessions, so a team of 6 shares 6 hours of group coaching.
About this course
This course teaches you to use GitHub Copilot as a working developer: inline suggestions, Copilot Chat, Copilot Edits and agent mode with MCP servers, the Copilot CLI, the coding agent and Copilot code review on GitHub. You learn how Copilot builds prompts from context and handles data, write prompts and instruction files that get consistent results, generate tests and refactor legacy code, and configure content exclusions, public-code filtering and organization policies. The modules follow the skills measured for the GitHub Copilot (GH-300) exam as of August 7, 2026. The exam is not included in the price.
Who it is for
This course is for software developers, test automation engineers, DevOps staff, technical leads and technical founders who use or administer GitHub Copilot.
Prerequisites
Introduction to GitHub with AI, or working knowledge of GitHub repositories and pull requests
Experience with at least one programming language
Requirements
Works on Windows, macOS or Linux
Visual Studio Code (free) and a free GitHub account
GitHub Copilot: Copilot Free covers many labs; the coding agent and Copilot code review need a paid Copilot plan (Pro or higher), and content exclusions, organization policies and audit logs need Copilot Business or Enterprise, so those labs use a practice organization we provide. We confirm your access before you start
