TO SHOWCASE TALENT
AT “WE CAN CODE IT” CAREER DAY
CLEVELAND, OH – Employers are hungry for diversity in IT departments – because it helps businesses drive innovation and growth. Cleveland employers have their pick of some of the best new and diverse talent at the We Can Code IT Career Day and recruiting event on Friday, March 24 at 10 a.m. at JumpStart Inc, 6701 Carnegie Avenue, Suite 100, Cleveland. A free lunch buffet is open for employers from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Employers will see team presentations by more than 20 junior software developers, all graduates of the rigorous We Can Code IT boot camp. They will showcase real application projects highlighting their coding expertise, teamwork, creativity and presentation skills. The graduates are then seated at tables for 10-minute “speed recruiting” meetings where employers can ask questions, see recent work, and take notes for potential employment follow-up.
We Can Code IT has earned a reputation in both Cleveland and Columbus with its unique mission to improve inclusion and diversity in tech fields. The seeds of the organization were planted in 2013 when successful software developer Mel McGee was asked to teach other women the computer coding skills needed to enter the field. We Can Code IT has become one of Cleveland’s highest-ranked coding schools based on the industry review site, CourseReport.com.

We Can Code IT teaches people how to code, with a special emphasis on inclusion and diversity in tech. With locations in Cleveland and Columbus, We Can Code IT is bridging the gap for those underrepresented in tech by graduating 80% women and people of color. Founded by a female developer with over 20 years of experience, WCCI is a diverse group of experienced programmers and teachers who provide the training and career support that students need.
