DigiGirlz two-hour Workshop

Inspiring girls to pursue their dreams with technology

Highlights

Join the fun at your Microsoft Store, where girls ages 10-18 will explore the importance of computer science and how it can enhance the things they already love to do. Attendees will learn what it’s like to work in technology to create something new, solve big problems, and explore possibilities.

During the Workshop, they’ll explore combining imagination, problem-solving skills, passion, and computer science to turn that into a career in STEM. With STEM, they can be the one to find the cure, crack the code, invent the solution, and #MakeWhatsNext.

  • The first hour of the Workshop features inspiring presentations from women who are creating, building, coding, leading, and knocking down barriers in the world of high-tech to #MakeWhatsNext. Girls will enjoy a presentation and Q&A session with our keynote speaker Mel McGee, Founder and CEO of We Can Code IT.
  • During the second hour, the girls will get hands-on experience in our Hour of Code™ session, which includes learning coding fundamentals. By the end of the Workshop, they’ll be familiar with resources that they can use to learn how to make a song, an eCard, an emoji, or a Minecraft world. They will have learned why computer science is a great way to express ideas and how it can be a rewarding career.
