Jamie Starts New Career Earning 3x Her Previous Salary After leaving college and being told she’d never make it, Jamie was hired before graduating We Can Code IT’s bootcamp. Jamie states that We Can Code IT’s program gave her the confidence boost she needed to succeed. She’s now a software developer at Chase!

In just three months, the change in my outlook and happiness is amazing. In college, I learned a lot of marketing theory but not practical skills. I got hired in sales and customer service for a large national bank and was miserable. My skills were underutilized and I kept applying for jobs where I needed tech skills. My dad is a software developer and I remember talking to him . . .

Darín Utilizes Networking to Land Competing Job Offers I graduated from Oberlin College as a Comparative American Studies major. I was a Bonner Scholar, for which I did a variety of volunteer service and set myself up to have a non-profit career. Throughout my service and work with non-profit organizations, I noticed a disconnect between the needs of the organizations and their databases.

Cierra Starts a New Career as a Mobile Developer After a search of coding bootcamps across the country, Cierra decided to attend We Can Code IT in Cleveland, OH. A collaborative learning environment helped her in the classroom and then the supportive staff reassured her that she was capable of thriving after graduation. Shortly after graduating, she started her new career as a mobile developer at ABAS-USA close to home in Virginia.

Olay Lands a Spot at Microsoft Olay attended We Can Code IT coding bootcamp after initially earning a computer science degree in New Jersey. While researching different coding bootcamps, he found that We Can Code IT could provide not only exceptional curriculum and instruction, but a welcoming atmosphere that could help him achieve his dreams. Shortly after graduating, We Can Code IT helped him gain a highly competitive and handsomely paid spot at Microsoft through their LEAP program.

Juan Starts New Career at Progressive and Achieves Work-Life Balance Juan came to the United States to pursue an education in music. While working two jobs in the music field he realized he wanted to find a way to spend more time with his family while still supporting them well financially. He initially tried the self-taught approach to learning to code but ultimately decided that attending We Can Code IT’s coding bootcamp would have a greater outcome. His strategy paid off. He landed a well-paying and balanced career as a software developer at Progressive days before graduating.

After working in politics in Washington DC, Kyle returned to Ohio. He began to research coding bootcamps after reading about their rising popularity. He found We Can Code IT and attended the full-time cohort in Cleveland. Kyle quickly began his new career after meeting with one of WCCI’s employer partners, Foundation Software.

Mary has studied everything from Illustration and Printmaking to Math and Art History. While earning her degree in Philosophy, she took a class in Database Systems and was surprised by how much she enjoyed it. When Mary found We Can Code IT and their commitment to creating a welcoming environment for everyone she knew it was the right path for her. After attending the part-time coding bootcamp, she was able to find a job where she can utilize all of her skills.

Lexus Davis studied engineering management at Ohio University, but found out after graduating that getting a job without having coding skills is very difficult. Employers wanted her to have real skills to bring to the table. That’s when she found We Can Code IT’s coding bootcamp and her dreams took off! During bootcamp, she got a very lucrative job offer from JP Morgan Chase where she is now working as a Technology Analyst.

Ashley hated her college experience, not because she wasn’t bright, but because it dragged on and became difficult to manage. After a bad marriage, and an unfulfilling job, Ashley felt hopeless. That’s when her friend, Krista, told her about We Can Code IT. She found the atmosphere perfect for her. She picked her self up, and joined We Can Code IT’s part-time coding bootcamp. In the end, she triumphed over her naysayers, those who didn’t believe she could succeed in her career, and landed a great job that she loves before she even graduated!

After attending a coding school in Miami, she decided she needed more. She found We Can Code IT, learned skills that high-paying employers were seeking, and landed her dream job at Hyland software!

After earning an undergraduate degree in computer science, Dee felt like an impostor. She didn’t have the mentorship or support to pursue her dream job in software, so she took a lower-paying job tertiarily related to computers. After working for a couple years, she learned about We Can Code IT and attended our part-time coding bootcamp while working. Weeks after graduating, she landed her dream job at Dakota Software! “At the end of the day, my experience in college was nice and I am grateful for my degree. But I owe a lot to We Can Code It for not only refreshing my mind in programming, but for also re-teaching me in such a positive and engaging way!”

This is an excellent course. Mel is readily available to every student to share her knowledge. The instructors at We Can Code IT know the industry and are able to help students find their individual strength and niches within IT. (From what I have gathered, this is not the case for many other boot camps, that are taught primarily by boot camp alumni and CS students.)
